Care Instructions

Floral Arrangements:
How long will they last? As long as you take care of them. Seems simple but it’s true. We take pride in visiting the local flower farms and markets several times a week to garner only the freshest premium cut stems available as well as growing our own at our estate gardens. Some flowers simply last longer than others. Tender stems like anemones, ranunculus, hellebores and jasmine tend to fade sooner than most, but we love them nonetheless. For the longest possible life we offer these suggestions.

Keep your fresh florals out of direct light whether natural or artificial. Dark and cool is always best.
Use fresh water and food daily. If possible, make a fresh cut on stems daily. Transferring the flowers to a cooler outdoor climate nightly or an empty garage refrigerator will mimic a floral cooler (if you move them to a fridge mist heavily and make sure that none of the flowers are touching anything). Mist frequently (except thin petaled flowers like sweet peas or lizianthus).

Orchids:
Must have adequate filtered sunlight at least part of the day in order to bloom. In the home, an east window is excellent. If foliage begins to yellow, there may be too much light. Water once a week with a thorough soaking. Never allow the plant roots to sit in water. Adequate drainage is important. It is best to prevent water from getting on the leaves. Use tepid water in the morning so that the plant has time to dry by nightfall. Feed with prepared orchid food every 2 weeks.

Hydrangeas:
Hydrangeas are the showiest of all the home garden plants. Whether in a pot or in the ground - the soil must never be allowed to dry out. Most hydrangeas require a bit of water daily and profit from frequent misting. Once the plants flower head begins to fade transfer to a north facing spot in the garden.
